The Story Behind It

“A diva is someone who is a perfectionist, who does her best in her craft. So if diva means giving your best, then yes, I guess I am a diva”. ~ Patti LaBelle

By BHOOMI DIWA

If somebody asked whom I want to be, I would have said Sushmita Sen. Even when you would have talked to her for few minutes you would feel you have touched the electric wire of positivity and charm, she oozes that never dies. Once you have touched the water, you will not come out without getting wet. No wonder we have only 2 divas in this industry – Rekha and Sushmita Sen. This Title of Diva has intrigued me a lot.  It took me a lot of R&D in various dictionary to find out what Diva is it only the best singer opera? Is it the insult that many people say? Are these the attention-seeking woman? Then Suddenly, the definition of Diva that resonated to me was unrelieved. Diva is somebody who exudes great style and personality with confidence and expresses their style and not letting others influence who they are or want to be. This is something which has a positive notation and many should be looking forward to having it.

Diva to me is a driven woman with passion and purpose to ride and build her life and people. Is it the dressing style that defines a diva? Diva is diva not because of external beauty but more of internal beauty. So all the glow and shine comes from within. So what makes a Diva a Diva, let’s break down and help make each of us the diva that we should have been from the start.

First of all, She is never afraid to try and give her best shot in whatever she puts her heart on. She understands the fact the “Never try to fit in because we were all born to stand out”.Once you are aware of what your value system, ethics and what you desire in your life. You focus on only the right things and are driven by your purpose.  Since they are driven by a purpose, they don’t get distracted by other people’s agenda and achieve what they set their mind on.

“Being the Queen is not all about singing, and being a diva is not all about singing. It has much to do with your service to people. And your social contributions to your community and your civic contributions as well”~Aretha Franklin

Second of all, she has the charm and grace with the comfortability
to allow spotlight on them and at the same time, they can easily pass on to other people. Anytime you have a doubt remember Sushmita sen how much superstar she has been, she has the grace to be in the centre of all glamour and includes others in life in that sparkle of light easily. Maybe that’s why Bollywood only had 2 divas till date Sushmita Sen and Rekha. There is grace in which they carry themselves and yet when they are around you you become part of the stage. They share the gratitude to their followers and it is like thanking the team when you get promoted and saying that you couldn’t have achieved without them.

Lastly, these people always have a positive look at life.
There is fun when you are around them, they can make a dreary night to a dainty dream with the moonlight glow all over the sky. You can see them smiling from the eyes, not just the cheeks, there is something childlike and faith in the universe that all things keep falling in place for them

So in short you are diva when you are super talented, super glamourous and high achiever woman. Nobody in this world will put up with confidence which is not backed up with skills and results.

It’s time we up our game and take pride in being called as diva. “It’s never too late to reclaim your inner diva and reclaim your inner strength”~ Michelle Visage
